Brain Health
Are you experiencing any of these issues?
Your memory is getting noticeably worse
You sometimes can’t find the right words
Difficulty remembering where you put things
Hard to concentrate
Did you know your gut has been called your second brain?
To make matters worse injuries, infections, our diets, poor sleep and inflammation all affect the degree and rate of those changes.
If your brain isn’t working very well, your gut is largely responsible.
The impact of gut microbes on your brain health has been ignored for years. Science is now showing that the gut microbiome has a profound influence on brain health. There are actually more neurotransmitters in your gut than in the brain. The gut produces neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine which play a crucial role in regulating mood, behavior and cognitive function.
Additionally, the gut microbiome communicates with the brain through the gut brain axis which is a bidirectional communication system. This communication occurs via various pathways including the vagus nerve, immune system, and production of metabolites. Disruptions in this communication can lead to inflammation, oxidative stress, and neuroinflammation which are all implicated in the development of brain disorders. The gut brain connection has been linked to conditions such as autism, alzheimers and dementia. Depression and anxiety are common today and are directly linked to our gut microbes. Even sleep is impacted by imbalances in the gut and by restoring those imbalances sleep can improve. By optimizing gut microbes, we can potentially alleviate symptoms of mental health conditions and enhance our overall emotional well being
The second key piece to a healthy brain is through our own daily thoughts. Did you know we have about 60,000 thoughts every day and most of them are negative?
Did you know that you can rewire your brain?
If you answered yes, then let me tell you about Positive Intelligence. Research has shown that utilizing the principles of Positive Intelligence, you can extend your life by 10 years!
Along with a healthy lifestyle, building your mental fitness is a key component for healthy aging and living from your true potential.
Simplistically, Positive Intelligence is about mental fitness and shines the light on who our minds saboteurs are, how they get activated and then provides the tools to actually rewire the brain to a more positive and healthy state.
I think of saboteurs as that voice in your head thats always negative and brings you down.
We all get stuck in negative moods or states and Positive Intelligence teaches how to recover from a negative to a positive response to our lives challenges in a shorter period of time. We often carry these issues with us for hours, days and years. What if we could help ourselves to let go and actually see our challenges as opportunities?
The man behind Positive Intelligence is Shirzard Chamine. Shirzad is the author of the New York Times bestselling Positive Intelligence. Shirzad has lectured on Positive Intelligence at Stanford University and has trained faculty at Stanford and Yale business schools.
An assessment tool was created to identify your personal saboteurs. If you’re curious take this short assessment quiz where they will identify your saboteurs by using the link below.

So the question becomes do you want to be in command of your mind or your mind in command of you?
Think of this: Your brain is made up on neurons. When a signal travels down a neuron, it results in activation of other neurons based on synapses or networks that connect neurons. But there are multiple choices for which direction the signal would travel. The question is which neuron will be activated. Every time a neuron activates another neuron, they become more closely wired together, making it more likely that the signal will go in that direction the next time around. This constitutes a “neural pathway.” This is where the phrase neurons that wire together fire together has come from.
By utilizing meditation and Positive Intelligence your brain can shift to a more positive and empowering tool for your health and life.
